Spotlight on Talent: Aiga Dalberga

“I wanted to enhance my quality of life by doing something I have a passion for. Education opens wider view of life and opportunities and I feel that by pursuing higher level study, I’m providing a good example to my children.”
Aiga Dalberga
Access to HE: Business and Law
After a long break from education, Aiga moved to Walsall and continued her studies. During a trip to the College’s Open Day, she discovered the Access to Higher Education course, which has helped her gain a place at the University of Law.
Aiga’s Access course has helped her to develop a range of skills needed in higher education, including managing her own time.
“I like how the course prepares you for university, which includes the responsibility we have to take in order to maintain our course work. Deadlines for assignments are set and the ability to manage your private life and time is essential. Tutors are very supportive and will guide you when needed.”
Walsall College’s Access to HE course has enabled Aiga to pursue something she enjoyed.
“I have always been interested in law field, and I wanted to enhance my quality of life by doing something I have a passion for. Education opens wider view of life and opportunities and I feel that by pursuing higher level study, I’m providing a good example to my children.”
Aiga values the academic skills and experiences she gained from the course, including a trip to the Houses of Parliament.
“I learnt how to think critically and analyse information, which are some of the most important skills I gained. My visit to the House of Lords and House of Commons was an amazing experience, as I learnt about the history of British law and how new legislations are made”
She is now continuing her studies at the University of Law, with dreams of becoming a barrister.
“I have received an offer from the University of Law to study an LLB degree. After that, I plan to study a Bar Professional Training course.”
Aiga commends the support she received during her studies. “The tutors were great. If I ever had any issue, I knew where to turn and I was always heard.”
