Spotlight on Talent – Victoria Morel
Studied: Level 2, Level 3, HNC and HND Creative Media Production (TV & Film)
Progression: BA Hons Media, Film & TV Studies – University of Wolverhampton
The smaller class sizes, regular interactions with tutors and more personalised teaching and learning available at Walsall College were all reasons why Victoria Morel chose to begin her degree level studies here. The biggest reason of all was continuing to be part of in-house company, Future Flames Productions.
“I’ve loved my time here,” said Victoria. “This has come across through my Distinction grades.
“Working with Future Flames has been amazing too. It’s work experience with lots of support and you’re learning all the while.”
Victoria has also developed her creative media skills while volunteering with Birmingham City Football Association in a social media capacity. Her vast industry experience stood out on her CV when it came to her applying for a social media and marketing volunteer role with the digital publication, Disgraceful magazine.
Victoria is now keen to pursue a long-term career in video-based social media.
“While my work doesn’t tend to be specific, I enjoy hybrid productions such as a film short combined with a music video. I did something similar for the college’s end of year film festival. It felt like a fitting end to my college journey.”
