Mental Health Awareness Week makes it mark
Gardening, knitting, colouring and strolling were just some of the activities that Walsall College students have been taking part in during Mental Health Awareness Week 2021.
The college’s Hawbush Campus became a wellbeing hive of activity each day. Learners and campus visitors took part in a variety of workshops. These included gardening, creating a stress ball and understanding mental health.
“It’s been a fun and fulfilling week for us all,” said Amanda Davies, Curriculum Manager for Essential Skills. “Everyone has loved trying out new things with new people.
“We’re well aware of the positive impact that learning new skills has on our mental health. This week has also been about the short, simple ways that people can take time out for themselves and just enjoy the moment.”
