It was a wrap for Media students at their film premiere
Media students at Walsall College premiered their end-of-year short films to members of the public at the Mockingbird Cinema in Birmingham.
The event kicked off from 6.30pm at the Digbeth cinema, where Level 3 and Higher Education Media students showcased films written and produced from two different briefs.
Films produced by Level 3 students explores the theme of ‘This is Me’, an introspective collection of experimental shorts that looks at the complexities within the filmmakers’ characters.
For those who are cartoon fans, Higher education students have produced a series of experimental films based on the theme of ‘Animated to Alive’. Featuring a wide range of famous names – from Harley Quinn to Christopher Robin – the films explores the traits and imperfections of animated characters that students have chosen to bring to life.
Christine Taylor, Curriculum Manager for Media, commented: “This is Me and Animated to Alive showcased some very creative and interesting pieces from our Media students.
The viewing was a great opportunity for staff, students and the general public to see the skill and artistry our Level 3 to 6 students have developed during their respective courses. It was also an opportunity for students to exhibit their talents and work together to make the premiere a great evening for visitors.”
