Digital whizz kids bag top competition prizes
Congratulations to Ark St Alban’s Academy in Birmingham for achieving a hat trick of wins in Walsall College’s Great Big Digital & Tech Quiz.
The college received hundreds of entries from local 13-17 year olds in the online quiz.
Students, Isma, Ahmed and Masud were awarded first, second and third prizes. The school also received a trophy after submitting the highest number of competition entries.
Charlene Steele, Assistant Head of Sixth Form and Careers Lead at the School said: “We’re so pleased with our competition wins. Digital and IT skills have been at the forefront of our teaching and learning over the last 12 months. It’s great that engaging with new technologies, such as those now available in the college, has paid off.
“This is an example of how our students are improving their industry awareness through professional services-related activities.”
Year 10 students, Ahmed and Masud were presented a £50 and £20 book voucher. Isma won a Fujitsu LifeBook.
The Great Big Digital & Tech Quiz was part of the launch of Walsall College’s Digital Innovation Hub. It is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority and is in partnership with Fujitsu.
