Walsall College celebrates Thrive at Work Award success
Walsall College is celebrating after receiving a Thrive at Work award for workplace wellbeing.
The Foundation Level accreditation demonstrates the college’s commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of the 850 staff across their teaching, student support and business support teams.
“This award belongs to all our colleagues whose wellbeing is crucial to our success,” said Natalie Priest, Head of Human Resources. “It is testament to how dedicated we are to providing a supportive, inclusive environment where they can be at their best professionally and personally.
“Naturally, our ultimate goal is to achieve Gold Level accreditation. This is an exciting first step towards that status. It inspires us to further establish a culture of workplace wellbeing embedded in improvement and innovation.”
The Thrive at Work programme, developed by the West Midlands Combined Authority provides a framework for implementing effective health and wellbeing strategies, ensuring that employees feel valued, supported, and empowered. It emphasises a holistic approach, encompassing key areas such as mental and physical health, alongside essential organisational supports such as health and safety and manager training.
