Leadership and Management Degree Honours for local professionals
A group of managers and aspiring managers who completed a Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship through Walsall College have graduated with honours. The nine learners were joined by college staff at their graduation ceremony, hosted by validating institution, the University of Worcester.
The three-year Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship qualification is designed to support professionals aspiring to work in a management role or who wish to develop their careers in management. It consists of a FdA in Leadership & Management and BA (Hons) Leadership & Management (Top-up) and is taught by the college in partnership with the university.
The ceremony took place at Worcester Cathedral.
Yvonne Drummond, Apprenticeship Sector Manager at the College said: “It’s incredibly rewarding to see our learners achieve their degrees and attend a prestigious ceremony after all their hard work. The knowledge and skills they have gained undoubtably strengthen their leadership capabilities and self-confidence. Their accomplishments will also enhance their careers, enabling them to make a valuable contribution to their respective organisations and overall, to the region’s workforce.”
Sarah Wilks, a manager in safeguarding for adults with Worcester County Council was one of the graduates.
She said: “Achieving Chartered Manager status has made my three years’ study and hard work worthwhile.
“It has expanded my knowledge, skills, behaviours and confidence to be more visible and effective in my current role and strive to lead on future change management projects with maximum impact.”
