Careers advice service aims to turn jobseekers into key workers during lockdown
Walsall College is running an advice service for local people interested in the key worker job opportunities created by the coronavirus outbreak.
Connecting Communities provides online and telephone support to residents in Beechdale, Birchills and Leamore.
Debbie Illidge at the college said: “We’re reaching out to individuals keen to do their bit and who might need a little help completing applications, identifying transferrable skills or finding out how to volunteer. It’s important that anyone who feels they are at a disadvantage when it comes to applying for roles is encouraged and supported so that they have a chance to prove what they can offer.”

People in lockdown looking for way to boost their qualifications and enhance their knowledge can also explore Walsall College’s free online distance learning courses. The Level 2 qualifications are available in business administration, health and social care. Learners signing up for courses now will complete their studies before the start of the summer.
