Walsall Lifelong Learning Alliance unveil new logo
An alliance of education leaders across Walsall and the Black Country has expressed how impressed they are with their new logo, designed by a Walsall College student.
Louise Mahon, who studied HND Graphic Design, was introduced to members of the Walsall Lifelong Learning Alliance (WLLA) during their recent meeting, where the partnership’s new logo was unveiled.
Representatives from the alliance shared how much they admired and appreciated Louise’s creative efforts. They also confirmed that the new brand identity would inspire further ideas about their future activities in line with the partnership’s strategy.
WLLA is a collaborative learning partnership that promotes cooperation between local providers and ensures that learning plays a key role in local regeneration. Key partners include the Learning Skills Council (LSC), local schools, Walsall College, the University of Wolverhampton, as well as private sector and community representatives.
Louise was part of a group of graphic design students at Walsall College invited to submit new logo designs to the Alliance as part of a live creative brief. She is now completing her degree at the University of Wolverhampton.
“It was a complete surprise to find out my logo concept was being taken forward by the Alliance,” said Louise.
“The initial brief suggested developing something around togetherness and a sense of community. This resonated with me, as it reflects the idea that regardless of our age or background, we can all engage, collaborate, and integrate in every learning environment.”
“As a mature student, I’ve proved it can be done.”
