Student authors host book launch party
Supported learning students at Walsall College celebrated the print publication of their creative writing at a book launch event.
The Words of Creative Young Minds is the work of Vocational Group 10. It is an anthology of short stories, poems, fan fiction and non-fiction articles produced by 12 students.
The book launch saw the authors read extracts of their work to class mates, tutors and invited guests. They then took part in a Q&A session where they talked more about the inspiration behind their work.
Tanya Lewis, Supported Learning Team Leader at the college said: “This has been an exciting project for the students, which this book launch has made all the more special.
“It’s wonderful to see how far the learners have come in terms of developing their creative writing skills and becoming more confident in articulating their personal experiences, ideas and feelings. I hope we can produce additional collections of students’ work in future.”
Signed copies of The Words of Creative Young Minds were also distributed at the book launch.
