Game Hack session inspires Esports students

Esports students at Walsall College have kicked off a games design research project in the best possible way by visiting a local boardgame café.
The Level 3 group spent two days at Asgard Games taking part in their Game Hack session. It saw them explore a range of different boardgames such as Catan, King of Tokyo and Tsuro. They were then encouraged to brainstorm ideas for their own boardgames which could be tested out in store.
A wide range of skills were developed as a result, including their problem solving, creative, communication, team building, maths and English skills.
Vince Connelly, Asgard Games owner said: ‘’I have really enjoyed working with the Esports students. We had some really good board game designs and there had been some real thought go into the mechanics behind the games.
“I look forward to working with Walsall College again in the future.”
