Construction College Midlands launches partnership with AT-PAC

Construction College Midlands has enhanced its facilities and expanded its training course portfolio through a collaborative partnership with AT-PAC.
The Birmingham-based college is the first training provider in the region to partner with the global scaffolding solutions provider to deliver the System Scaffolding Product Training Scheme (SSPTS) AT-PAC Ringlock System.
A pilot programme delivered in early November saw participating scaffolders upskill using ringlock/rosette system scaffolds, achieving a CISRS completion certificate and AT-PAC company endorsement.
AT-PAC has also supplied the college with £35,000 worth of AT-PAC Ringlock to deliver the training effectively. These include loading towers, steel planks, bay braces and interlocking towboards.
Daniel Wood, Sales Director for AT-PAC UK said: “Partnering with Walsall College is about investing in the next generation of scaffolders. As an industry, we all recognise the shortage of skilled labour and with AT-PAC firmly rooted in the Midlands, we’re committed to supporting local talent and strengthening the future of our trade.”
Jatinder Sharma CBE DL, Principal and Chief Executive of Walsall College, which Construction College Midlands is part of, said: “This industry collaboration will ensure our scaffolding training remains cutting-edge and relevant, promoting efficiency, versatility and safety.
“By working with the college and AT-PAC, employers and their teams will gain new skills and confidence, which in turn will help strengthen relationships with their customers and suppliers.”
The AT-PAC partnership, new courses and resources mark the third consecutive year of growth at Construction College Midlands. In 2023, a new scaffolding facility was introduced, along with a Green Skills Sustainability Centre. 2024 saw the installation of an additional scaffolding rig to meet demand and new courses in roofing and scaffolding.
