Football Academy welcome sessions kick off in May

Walsall College’s Football Academy (men’s and women’s) is hosting welcome sessions for upcoming school leavers interested in combining their love of the game with a sports-related qualification next year. The sessions are taking place next Wednesday (3rd May) and Wednesday 17th May at Sporting Khalsa’s Aspray Arena, WV13 3BB between 4.00pm and 5.30pm.
Mark Howard, Sports Development Coordinator at the college said: “These welcome sessions are designed to introduce talented local footballers to an Academy that has strong links with local clubs and an excellent performance record in college leagues.
“We’re inviting students to find out more about how they can combine an active training programme and participation in tournaments with our Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sport, or the Level 2 Player Development & Strength and Conditioning qualifications. Both courses provide progression onto relevant university-level sports courses and help to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to train further for a range of coaching, physiotherapy and sports psychology-based job roles, to name a few.”
Sessions will take place on a 4G artificial surface so attendees are asked to bring along an appropriate kit as well as a drink to keep up their hydration and your energy levels.
