Level 3 Award for SENCo in Early Years Settings – Information Session
Event Details
If you’re a practitioner working in a private, voluntary, or independent early years setting, the Level 3 Early Years Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) qualification could be a great next step.
All early years providers are expected to have systems in place to identify and support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and to make sure every child has equal opportunities to thrive. The SENCo plays a key role in this, helping to ensure the best possible educational outcomes for children with SEND.
This qualification is designed for those who are already taking on SENCo responsibilities as part of their role – or for those who are interested in doing so. It’s also well-suited to childminders who support children with additional needs.
What you’ll learn:
- The key responsibilities of a SENCo in an early years setting
- Effective strategies for supporting children with SEND and working with their families
- A deeper understanding of the SEN Code of Practice
- What this qualification can lead to:
- Progression into further or higher education

This course is ideal for those considering careers in:
- Early years and education
- Health and social care
- Social work and community roles
