Top ten student satisfaction national ranking achieved
Walsall College has proved to be one of the best in the country for learner satisfaction. The college ranked joint eighth in a league table produced by industry publication, FE Week, in partnership with education awarding body, Pearson.
Out of 172 colleges, Walsall College achieved a satisfaction score of 89.6% – well above the average satisfaction score of 80.5%.
The survey compiled by the Department for Education (DfE) was available for students nationwide to complete during November 2018 and May 2019, with 345,174 learners taking part.
“Being in the top ten confirms that students enjoy their time with us,” said Jatinder Sharma OBE, Principal and Chief Executive at Walsall College. “The survey shows that our students are happy with the teaching and support they receive and also that their courses meet expectations and demonstrate opportunities for further progression. We have also been praised for responding well to students’ views about their learner journey.”
He continued: “We pride ourselves on delivering a student experience of the highest possible standards. This ranking is testament to all our efforts, enhancing our reputation as an outstanding further education provider.”
The college has also improved its position in this year’s league table for employer satisfaction. The college achieved an 89.3% satisfaction score, above the average score of 82.4%. The table measures feedback from employers regarding quality of training, the professionalism of Apprenticeship staff and if training successfully prepares employees for their job roles.
