Children, parents and staff at Walsall College’s Little Professors Nursery are celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating, following an Ofsted inspection in January.
The nursery gained an ‘Outstanding’ in all areas and feedback stated that its children aged 2-4 years old ‘are extremely happy and demonstrate high levels of emotional security, confidence and self-esteem’.
Ofsted praised the nursery’s partnership with parents, who said ‘children are fully supported and are always learning new things’.
The staff at the nursery were also regarded as ‘highly skilled and deeply knowledgeable’, demonstrating ‘a deep understanding of how children learn’ and for ‘developing children’s communication and language skills’ through a range of strategies.
Jatinder Sharma CBE DL, Principal and Chief Executive at the college said: “We are filled with pride at being named as an Ofsted Outstanding nursery.
“It’s fantastic to receive this recognition for the hard work and dedication of our nursery team and in turn, for the quality of the care and education they provide. This includes effective safeguarding and support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
“We are as committed as ever about developing strategies and using our resources to ensure the children in our care have the best start in life. With this in mind, we look forward to building on our success making a further positive contribution to the families and communities we serve.”
Abby Selibas, Little Professors Nursery Manager, added: “The nursery team are so proud to achieve Ofsted Outstanding for the first time. We’d like to thank parents and our community partners for their support.”
The Little Professors was established in 2009 and is operated by 15 members of childcare staff. Students at the college on early years and childcare courses also regularly participate in work placements at the nursery.
