Industry goodies awarded to electrical installation students of the year
Three electrical installation students at Walsall College have received an array of tools and accessories after being named by their lecturers as students of the year.
Deligo, Magnusson Tools, Niglon, Schneider Electrical and Test Instrument Solutions have donated a range of equipment to college students over the last 12 months. Three goodie bags containing some of these items were presented to the following students at the end of the academic year:
Dwayne Milward – Level 1 Student of the Year
Aleksander Tomera – Level 2 Student of the Year
Prabjhjot Singh – Level 3 Student of the Year
Lecturer, Andrew Duffen said: “Lecturers nominated students who have gone the extra mile in terms of demonstrating the skilled, professional and enterprising qualities of a Walsall College graduate.
“In addition to this, they’ve supported their classmates and engaged with the employers who have joined them in class for industry talks and workshops.
“We fully congratulate Dwayne, Aleksander and Prabjhot and hope to supporting their continuing career journeys, whether that’s progressing onto the next stage of their training as full-time students or going into the workplace as apprentices.”
Andrew added: “Thanks also go to our five industry employers who have so generously shared their resources, investing in the next generation of talent.”
Graduating Level 2 student, Aleksander said: “I haven’t always been confident about what I can do, but the college environment allows me to work at my own pace, so I don’t feel any pressure. It meant that I passed all my course modules first time around which I was proud of. This award win confirms what I’ve achieved and motivates me to keep moving forward.”
