Ibstock Bricks supports local talent
Ibstock Bricks has shown their support to the next generation of bricklayers by making a generous donation to Walsall College.
The 7,200 bricks provided by the leading brickmakers will support the training of the college’s bricklaying and multi-skills construction students and apprentices.
Paul Dixon, Lecturer at the college said: “We are very grateful to Ibstock Bricks for this generous donation which we will utilise throughout the year. Their support aligns to the college’s own investment in resources for the teaching of construction trades. At the start of the college year, we welcomed 160 bricklaying students and apprentices and anticipate a 30% increase in numbers this September.
“Having already expanded our brick workshop areas and teaching team to accommodate this and respond to rapid local industry growth, it’s fantastic to also enhance our sector partnerships and work sustainably with them in order to enhance the knowledge and skills of future workforces.”
