Apprentice, Rosie named as industry bright spark
A Cannock apprentice says she is honoured to be included in a ‘one to one watch’ list put together by the electrical industry.
Rising star, Rosie Cranfield who works for Little Miss Sparky is named as one of the eFIXX 30 under 30.
The awards, sponsored by the Luceco Group, showcase the next generation of electrical contractors. They recognise the skill, passion and enthusiasm of those aged under 30 working in the industry.
The 22-year-old who trains at Walsall College received her award at a ceremony held in Birmingham.
“Finding out and then receiving this award is still sinking in,” said Rosie who is due to complete her apprenticeship next year.
“It’s going open doors for me.
“The awards ceremony itself gave me insights into the commercial side of the industry and some of the wider work opportunities available. This includes working more on the products side, particularly with those created by Luceco Group or seeing how installation work is carried out in other settings.
“All in all, I’m excited about what I can achieve next.”
Polly Shaw, owner of Little Miss Sparky and Rosie’s employer was thrilled by the award.
“Rosie has really grown in confidence since starting her Apprenticeship and it’s fantastic that both her college tutor and the wider industry have recognised her effort and progress through this award,” she said.
Rachael Lea, Rosie’s vocational coach at Walsall College added: “Rosie is an excellent example of everything a college, employer or client could want in an apprentice.”
“Her skills as an electrician are impressive, as is her ability to transfer her classroom learning into her workplace.
“She’s also been top of the class in her exams and often takes time out to help other apprentices. This hard work, dedication and industry passion means she fully deserves her award and every career success that comes her way in future.”
