Pre-Employment Checks
Your offer of employment will be confirmed in writing by email, here we will detail the pre-employment checks we need to complete before a start date can be confirmed. The documents within the email will include:
- Offer Letter
- Job Description
- Personal Details Form
- HMRC Starter Checklist
- Pension Form
- Conflict of Interest Policy and Procedure
- Code of Conduct
- DBS Checklist
We will also need to arrange for you to come into college to enable us to verify your ID and qualifications, more information on this will be supplied within the email.

What happens next
Please fill out any forms the HR team have supplied to you and return when requested.
You will be welcomed at reception and your induction will begin and the following will take place:
- Meet with your line manager
- Issued with a staff ID badge and an IT account will be created for you
- Shown where you will be working and how to use internal systems and processes
- Introduced to colleagues and key managers
- Car parking arranged
- Health & Safety outlined
- Brief tour of College and facilities.
During the first week you will understand more about:
- Key tasks and requirements of your new role
- How your role fits in with the team’s goals and organisational goals and working processes and practices
- How your performance will be assessed and measured
- Training/upskilling to be provided to get you up to speed
- Future plans and developments for your role and department
- Terms and conditions of your employment
- Online mandatory training to be completed.
Within the first month you will have completed the following:
- Prevent, Safeguarding and Health and Safety training and other mandatory training
- Met with your line manager to assess how you are adjusting to your new role, and any training requirements
- Feedback on onboarding process, what has worked well or what could be improved.
Within the first 6 months you will:
- Continue to settle into your role, team and college life
- Agree and review work objectives and timescales with your line manager through regular one-to-one meetings
- Take part in Probation Review Meetings with your line manager - the first meeting during weeks 8-9 weeks and second meeting during weeks 24-26.
