Spotlight on Talent – Caroline Williams

Caroline Williams believes her higher education student experience in college was far more beneficial than her computing degree top-up year at university, with the college environment being one of the standout reasons.

“University can make you feel like you’re in a sea of people where you easily lose yourself,” said Caroline.  “It can also be intimidating if you need to ask questions during lectures.”

“By comparison, college means smaller buildings and class sizes.  Your learning journey is more personalised and the knowledge you gain is so much more in-depth.”

Caroline also praises her lecturers for their expertise and accessibility.

“While I don’t remember the names of my university lecturers, that’s not the case with those from college,” Caroline continued.  “They were willing to stay behind after lessons to chat with you and offered one-to-one sessions.”

Growing up, Caroline had always been interested in computing, gaming and web development.  After completing her full honours computing degree, she secured a graduate position with an IT company.

She then joined Fulgent Technologies five years ago and now manages a team of support technicians.
