Construction College Midlands becomes first AT-PAC training partner in the West Midlands

Construction College Midlands is the region’s first training provider to partner with AT-PAC to deliver the System Scaffolding Product Training Scheme (SSPTS). The two-day course ensures scaffolders experienced in tube and fitting can upskill with ringlock/rosette system scaffolds, aligning with CISRS and manufacturer standards.
The Birmingham-based college is delivering a pilot programme on 6th and 7th November 2025 with a 10% discount on bookings and no VAT to pay.
Arthur Jevons, Site Manager at Construction College Midlands said: “Delivering this SSPTS course is the first step in a dynamic new collaboration between the college and AT-PAC.
Our scaffold instructors are fully experienced in the ringlock system and are ready to uphold the high standards set by AT-PAC and CISRS through expert-led, hands-on training.”
Our aim is to ensure that scaffolding practices and procedures are not only done right and done well, but with a mindset of added efficiency, security, safety and innovation.”
Ringlock system scaffolding products include key components like vertical standards, ledgers, and truss ledgers, which connect to a central rosette on the vertical posts. Other products are diagonal braces, base jacks, scaffold planks, and stairs, used for various access and support structures like bridges, stages, and industrial maintenance. These components, typically made of steel and finished with a hot-dip galvanized coating, are designed for quick and secure assembly.
While the SSPTS centres around using AT-PAC Ringlock system scaffolding, the training principles also relate to systems including Layher, Plettac (Altrad) Contur, Plettac (Altrad) Futuro, Scafom Rux, Peri Up Rossett Flex, Plettac Metrix, Wenma Finelock48.
The training covers manufacturer’s instructions, legal requirements and industry standards, and upon completion, trainees can get their specific system product endorsed on their CISRS card. This scheme was introduced to address the significant differences between various system scaffold products and is mandatory for those who have only been trained in tube and fittings.
