Do you get a buzz out of creating or fixing things? Are you a practical person who is always trying to find out how things work? Whether you see yourself as a budding electrician, mechanic or new product designer, our courses will set you up for an exciting career in engineering.

Access to Engineering run at the Black Country UTC is for students who would look to move to an apprenticeship but gain some additional qualifications within the sector, developing their skills within the engineering sector.

Programme Content:

  • OCR Level 2 Certificate in New Product Design & Development
  • BTEC First in Extended Certificate in Engineering
  • Ncfe Level 2 Certificate in Employability Skills
  • OCR Higher Project
  • Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT
  • First Aid Training
  • Health and Safety Training

They would also have the opportunity to retake GCSE English and Maths to gain a grade C
