Sustainability courses
This course has been developed to provide electricians with the appropriate skills and knowledge to enable them to install photovoltaic systems (PV). It is recognised as a demonstration of competence for the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme). It also meets all the requirements of the National Occupational Standards.
Courses such as these are a requirement of the Minimum Technical Competency document for PV installers. This particular course is recognised by the MCS as evidence of suitable training.
This qualification is aimed at practicing electricians interested in understanding how to install the range of equipment and systems available. It covers the specialised installation requirements of electric vehicle charging equipment in public, private and commercial locations and includes guidance on electrical requirements.
This course is designed for qualified plumbers in possession of full NVQ 2/3 qualifications.
It gives students the skills and knowledge required to correctly install heat pumps.
Assessments normally consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.
The level 2 award in Retrofit will provide learners with an understanding of what domestic retrofit is, the benefits, the materials and application methods along with the relevant health and safety requirements associated with retrofit.
Alongside the knowledge elements of this programme, learners will have the opportunity to cover basic practical elements applicable to external wall insulation (EWI) such as surface preparation, board application, base coats and mesh, beading and finish coats.
This course will provide individuals with a basic understanding of retrofit and its various applications, alongside the basic practical skills required to install and finish external wall insulation.
