A qualified accountant, David spent 25 years of his career in the engineering sector at Jaguar Land-Rover and IMI Ltd.  He subsequently moved into education at Walsall College and became the Deputy Principal prior to his retirement from the sector.

For the last 10 years David has been the CEO and owner of a consultancy business, undertaking a diverse range of education focused activities, such as end-point assessment for AAT, dissertation supervision and support in leadership, governance, change management, market potential, quality and social impact, financial systems and planning, and apprenticeship development and activity.

He firmly believes that education should provide a clear pathway to gaining employment and work-based skills. In addition, David supports the continued growth of the apprenticeship offer at the College.

David’s personal interests include football, cricket and walking.

He was appointed to the Corporation in March 2019 and became Chair in October 2022.
