Free Courses For Jobs

If you're looking to progress your career, or try something new, the "Free Courses For Jobs" scheme allows you to gain a level 3 qualification in order to help you on the way to developing your career. Courses are available across a number of subject areas.

 

Eligibility

All of our Free Courses For Jobs courses are subject to eligibility which can be found below.

For those who live within the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) area (The WMCA area consists of Walsall, Aldridge, Bloxwich, Wednesbury, Dudley,  Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Stourbridge, Solihull, Coventry, Aston, Fordbridge, Erdington, and Sutton Coldfield.   • You must be aged 19 or over as of 31st August 2025 within the 2025-2026 funding year.
  • You are studying your first full Level 3 qualification approved under the Free Courses for Jobs (FCFJ) scheme.
  • Adults aged 24 and over who are unemployed or earning low wages (even if they already hold a full Level 3 qualification or higher) are still eligible for FCFJ funding.
  • The low wage threshold is £34,194

For those who live outside the WMCA area:

  • You must be aged 19 or over as of 31st August 2025 within the 2025-2026 funding year.
  • You are enrolled on a Level 3 qualification approved under the Free Courses for Jobs (FCFJ) scheme.
  • You meet the eligibility criteria by earning below the £25,000 threshold
