The Freedom of Information Act 2000 came into force on 1st January 2005. The Act applies to information held by public bodies .The term ‘public bodies’ is defined in the Act and includes all public bodies and Government departments. The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives rights of public access to all types of recorded information held by the College, this access is known as the ‘right to know’.
The College must legally respond to a request within 20 working days. The Act also sets out exemptions from that right. The Act is policed by the UK Information Commissioner www.ico.org.uk

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 the public have the right to access information held by the College. This can be done by completing a Request for Information Form which is available on the College webpage, SharePoint or from the Data Protection Team.
