Staff Testimomnials

Viv, Inclusive Support Team

I initially studied at Walsall College when it was newly built in 2009/10, the positive experience and environment provided a great place to study.

I have been a staff member at Walsall College for 13 years, starting off my career as in the role of an hourly paid Learning Mentor providing additional support for students alongside my Higher Education studies. The Learning Mentor role inspired my passion for working with individuals with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities and my desire to pursue a career pathway within the area. An initial memory I recall when joining Walsall College was the support I received from colleagues within the Inclusive Support Team to ensure I quickly settled into the new environment and role.

I continued to progress to different roles within the Inclusive Support Team when opportunities presented and with the support of the organisation to engage in valuable professional development I reached my current role, SEND Manager within the organisation. I have the pleasure of working alongside an extremely dedicated team of staff who go above and beyond to support individuals with SEND here at the college. My role, although challenging, provides a high level job satisfaction and reward year on year.

Sophie, HR

I started my journey at Walsall College as a student, studying my GCSE's and then business qualification.

The College have supported me so much in my journey and has given me the opportunities to develop, and build my career - they continue to support my professional development whilst I study at a higher level of education in Human resources.

I work in an amazing team, who have given me so much guidance and support, I am so grateful to work with such lovely kind and caring colleagues. The College is like a family to me for all the guidance and support I have received over the years - I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for Walsall College and its staff. Walsall College has help me to be the person I am today.
