Heather studied medicine at Imperial College London, graduating in 1998. She trained as a GP in Wolverhampton and has spent her career working in deprived inner-city practices. She is currently a partner in a practice in Aston.

Heather is passionate about education and teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students in her practice. Since 2015 she has worked for Health Education England as a training programme director for GP education. This role carries responsibility for devising and delivering educational sessions, together with support and development of trainees and trainers in the South Staffordshire area. The role also includes holding a governance overview of standards in GP training in the West Midlands.
She has lived in the Walsall area for over 20 years.

When not busy as mum to two teenagers, she enjoys reading, sewing and playing music.

She is delighted to bring her previous experience in governance and education to a role so close to home.

Heather was appointed to Corporation in November 2020.
