Barbara is an education and training consultant with an extensive background in the further education and skills sector, spanning over 30 years. Her career journey includes roles in colleges, adult education, independent training providers and universities.

Initially teaching Modern Foreign Languages, her career evolved and she took on management and senior leadership positions, overseeing diverse provision and delivery types.

Barbara is passionate about developing educators, managers, senior leaders and other professionals so they can thrive in their roles and progress in their career.  She has helped many learning organisations advance their quality assurance and development activities through impactful strategic and operational approaches.

She is currently serving as chair of the Society for Education and Training and an observer on the Education and Training Foundation Board.

Barbara was appointed as an associate governor with Walsall College in November 2023 and as an external governor in August 2024.
