There are all sorts of ways you or your employer can help students prepare for the world of work

You could:

Host a business visit - host a morning or afternoon visit from students who study on a course that’s relevant to your industry.

Become a lecturer for a day - visit the college to provide encouragement and support to our students by leading discussions about the realities of working in a real business.

Offer placements or internships - provide students with a work placement for a block week or an ‘internship’ for one or two days over a number of weeks.

Set a live project brief - ask our students to design a logo, decorate your premises or set up and revamp your company website.

Let our students volunteer - our students could volunteer their services to your company for free. They could, for example, support or co-manage fundraising events or become a long-term volunteer.

Nurture an apprentice - apprenticeships are fully-funded training programmes that enable businesses to recruit junior employees into a range of job roles on contracts that are linked to the completion of their training.

Become a Governor - if you have experience of commerce, industry or work with local community groups, we would love to hear from you.

Offer a bursary - we’re committed to increasing the number of local people achieving higher level skills. Our bursary scheme gives companies the opportunity to make a difference to the most gifted students, allowing them to study and achieve their dreams, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Sponsor an individual, academy or a facility - sponsorships can be given to individuals or to the college. This ranges from donated equipment to the development of specialist academies, or donating your time to advise college students and leavers, who are just starting a business in our new start-up unit.
