Pastoral Support Officers support our students with a holistic approach to achieving their potential, both academically and personally.

The Pastoral Support Officers’ role

A Pastoral Support Officer is here to:

  • Listen
  • Offer Support
  • Offer encouragement and build self-esteem and confidence
  • Deal with issues on a day to day basis
  • Offer support with financial issues such as bursaries, bus passes and course equipment.

The role of Pastoral Support Officers for students:

  • To build confidence, raise self-esteem and motivation
  • To improve on social skills, form relationships with friends, families and staff
  • To improve attendance and punctuality
  • Help students achieve their potential
  • To help and support students with financial difficulties
  • To support with Careers and guidance.
