Virtual Academy Expansion Thanks to New Partnership
Walsall College is excited to announce the expansion of its recently launched Virtual Academy, thanks to a new partnership with one of the UK’s leading edtech companies, e-Careers Limited.
As a result both students and businesses across the local region will be able to benefit from a new and exciting range of professional, accredited and affordable online courses – all powered through e-Careers’ well-established e-learning platform.
With over 700 courses on offer, e-Careers has successfully educated nearly 325,000 individuals over the past five years alone, with the most popular courses being in business development, accountancy and project management.
Jayne Holt, Assistant Principal for Learning Services at Walsall College confirmed: “Here at Walsall College our core aim is to make all students feel welcome and aid them in developing a bright and prosperous future. In embracing modern technology and forming this new partnership with e-Careers, we will be able to significantly extend both student reach and support through an accessible library of e-learning courses designed to aid career development and opportunity.
“We are delighted to expand our Virtual Academy to offer a full range of professional courses through technology, allowing anyone who wishes to study or upskill the opportunity to access high quality learning.”
Launched earlier this year, Walsall College’s Virtual Academy has been well received by students and professionals across the Black Country – who have benefitted from its free offering of online business courses to aid start-up growth, together with free English and Maths study materials to help learners of all ages obtain essential skills for career development.
Examples of the new online and accredited courses provided to the college through e-Careers include Prince2 Project Management, Accountancy and Book Keeping and IT courses certified by Microsoft and Cisco – with many e-learning opportunities also suitable for employers and young professionals looking to aid their continued professional development.
Business Development Director for e-Careers, Jonathan Ward, said: “e-Careers is extremely excited about our new partnership with Walsall College, and the e-learning opportunities now available through the Virtual Academy as a result.
“As the only Outstanding College within the Black Country we are delighted to be part of such a well-respected and high achieving establishment, and feel that the expansion of the e-learning platform will become a welcome addition for both the College and students alike.”
