Travel Careers Set for Smooth Departure After British Airways Talk
A British Airways Cabin Crew member made a flying visit to Walsall College to offer Travel and Tourism students top industry advice on what it’s like to work in the sector.
Cassie Childs gave Level 1 and Level 3 students an insight in to how she has progressed in her career after starting out as an apprentice. She also spoke about her role in detail to give students looking to follow in her footsteps an accurate account of the career.
In addition, Level 3 students were given a range of interview tips and an insight into British Airways’ recruitment process, before taking part in an interactive session where they were put through mock interviews.
Travel and Tourism Lecturer at Walsall College, Gina Turner, said: “An important element of our courses is ensuring students feel prepared for the world of work by the time they complete the course, so having professionals already working in the industry provide detailed insights is a very valuable experience.
“Employer sessions like this one take place regularly throughout the year to help broaden students’ horizons and give them a competitive edge for when they embark on applying for jobs in the sector.”
