Mark Howard, Walsall College’s Sports Development Co-ordinator, was awarded the Hall of Fame award at the Association of Colleges (AoC) Sport national championships at Nottingham University, for his services to sport.

Mark, was presented with the award during the opening ceremony of the AoC Sport College national championships, which took place at Nottingham University.

The Walsall College lecturer has worked closely with AoC Sport for over ten years and has helped them to deliver a number of community projects, including one for mental health and wellbeing.

In addition, Mark is the AoC West Midlands regional chairman, representing the area at the National Operation group meetings.

Mark Howard, Sports Development Co-ordinator at Walsall College, said: “It is an honour to be recognised by my peers at AoC Sport. It is been a pleasure to work with the association to help develop young people’s potential through our community projects.

The AoC deliver a large number of programme with partner organisations to address specific needs, such as mental health first aid, teaching mathematics in a sports context, and encouraging girls to take part in different activities.

Receiving this award from the AoC is a testament to the amazing work they do and being part of their initiatives has been an incredibly rewarding journey.”
