Media students to premier short films
Iconic characters such as Harley Quinn and Christopher Robin will be explored at the Mockingbird Cinema on 25th June, where Media students at Walsall College will be holding a premier of their final end of year projects.
The showcase kicks off at 6.30pm at the Digbeth cinema, which is renowned for offering a unique cinematic experience.
During the show, Level 3 and Higher Education Media students will showcase films they have written and produced from two different briefs.
Films produced by Level 3 students explores the theme of ‘This is Me’, an introspective collection of experimental shorts that looks at the complexities within the filmmakers’ characters.
For those who are cartoon fans, Higher education students have produced a series of experimental films based on the theme of ‘Animated to Alive’. Featuring a wide range of famous names, the films explores the traits and imperfections of animated characters that students have chosen to bring to life.
Christine Taylor, Curriculum Manager for Media, commented: “This is Me and Animated to Alive will showcase some very creative and interesting pieces from our Media students.
The viewing is a great opportunity for staff, students and the general public to see the skill and artistry our Level 3 to 6 students have developed during their respective courses. It is also an opportunity for students to exhibit their talents and work together to make the premier a great evening for visitors.”
Tickets are priced at £5 each and are available to purchase from the Mockingbird Cinema. For more information about enrolling on a course at Walsall College, please call 01922 657000.
