Walsall College will be at the free to attend event, which takes place at the NEC from 15th - 17th November 2018 and will provide visitors with the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of interactive ‘Have-a-go’ experiences designed to help them develop new skills, talents and interests. There will also be the opportunity to find out more about further education and apprenticeships.
Located on stand H19-J-1 in The Skills Show College Zone, Walsall College will deliver a fantastic range of engaging activities, including a wacky photobooth and a Crepe Challenge.
Our photobooth is an ideal opportunity for visitors to see what they look like in their dream career, using props ranging from a chef’s hat to a business suit. Visitors can also add emojis and notes to their picture, with the option to print it out and take it home as a keepsake.
For those who have a competitive streak and love shows like MasterChef can experience a taste of what it’s like to cook up a tasty dish against the clock. The College’s Hospitality students will perform a quick demonstration on how to make to perfect crepes, before giving participants one-to-one advice on tips and tricks on getting the consistency right.
Participants will have the chance to cook up their own crepe, which will be judged by our Hospitality students. Winners will walk away a mystery prize, which will be unveiled on the day.
Walsall College’s marketing team will be on hand throughout the event to provide more information about the fantastic range of courses and apprenticeships, giving visitors the chance to explore everything on offer.
With coverage across the BBC, a wide variety of big name companies will be exhibiting at the event, including BMW Group UK, Coca Cola, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Muller, Toyota, Mitutoyo, the Royal Navy, the RAF and Lloyds Banking Group.
Last year, the show welcomed over 80,000 visitors and with so much on offer, the event once again promises to be the ideal opportunity for young people to be inspired and explore their next steps.
