More than 60 industry leaders gathered at Construction College Midlands for the NASC Safety Day 2026, a full day of live demonstrations, interactive workshops and technical discussions focused on safe working practices across the scaffolding and access sector.

The day featured five practical sessions covering some of the most important safety topics facing the industry.

Attendees took part in live demonstrations on:

β€’ preventing falls in scaffolding operations in line with SG4

β€’ rescue plan formulation in line with SG19

β€’ anchor tie testing in line with TG4

β€’ the safe loading of access and scaffolding lorries in line with SG30

β€’ a technical discussion on the cladding and sheeting of scaffolds.

The sessions were hands-on, interactive and drew enthusiastic engagement from those in attendance throughout the day.

Clive Dickin, Group CEO of NASC and CISRS, said: “Days like this are at the heart of what NASC is here to do. Bringing industry professionals together to learn, share experience and engage directly with the guidance and standards that underpin safe scaffolding is something we are deeply committed to.

“The response from everyone who attended was fantastic and it is a reminder of just how much appetite there is across the industry for this kind of practical, hands-on engagement with safety.”

The 2026 NASC Safety Report also featured prominently, with NASC CEO, Clive Dickin opening the day by walking attendees through the headline findings, providing a timely and honest assessment of where the industry stands on safety and what the priorities must be going forward.

Feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees praising both the quality of the demonstrations and the opportunity to engage directly with NASC’s team and fellow industry professionals.

Arthur Jevons, Site Manager at Construction College Midlands added: β€œHosting the NASC Safety Day 2026 enabled us to showcase our facilities to a range of industry representatives while emphasising our commitment to maintaining the highest standards around personal safety and wellbeing while working on site.”
