Could your company offer our students a work placement?
As part of our students’ study programme, all students are required to undertake a high quality and meaningful work experience. Work experience provides a vital opportunity for our students to develop their employability skills, enhance their learning, and open their eyes to the world of work. All this helps make our students more employable when they eventually complete their studies with us.
If your company could take on one or more of our students for a work placement, please get in touch via the form on this page, call us on 01922 651129, or email
What will my company need to do?
Provide a minimum of a one week placement (minimum of 30 hours per week)
Prepare to take on a work placement student between September to June.
Provide a Placement Supervisor, who will supervise and mentor the student for the duration of the placement
Liaise with our Health and Safety team to carry out a health and safety assessment.
Ensure that the placement is meaningful and supports the students’ 'work readiness'.
We will make things easy for you by:
Calling or visiting your company prior to the student starting the placement
Providing you with a point of contact at Walsall College
Briefing you on the Health and Safety requirements
Providing you with a detailed profile of the student before they start the placement
