Walsall College can help eligible businesses access these grants, obtaining funding to support the training of their staff. Are you aware of these three grants available to local employers?
There is an £1,000 incentive payment for taking on a 16-18 year old on an apprenticeship framework or standard, as well as 19-24 year olds who were formerly in care or who have an Education and Health Care Plan.
*Evidence of an original signed declaration by the Apprentice to confirm that they are a care leaver or evidence of an EHC plan is required in order to claim this incentive

Walsall College have secured European Social Funding (ESF) to deliver a project aimed specifically at supporting those individuals at risk of redundancy or made redundant within the last six months. Walsall College are working in partnership with Calderdale College who are the main contract holder.
Once you are in receipt of your letter confirming you are under consultation or at risk of redundancy, you have all the evidence needed to access the support through this project. There are no costs attached to this, even if at the end of your consultation period, your position is safe and you will not be made redundant.

The employability focussed work/shops and courses will help support you with gaining employment. Walsall College will deliver the support at your workplace or an alternative appropriate venue.
Walsall Works is a multi-million pound financial investment by Walsall Council. Employers will be offered an incentive payment of up to £6,000 to recruit a young person as an apprentice.
