Walsall College will:
  • Make things easy! Not taken on an apprentice before, cautious about what is involved? We can provide you with all the support you need to be a host employer

Terms and conditions
  1. The host employer should not deal with any HR matters. The host employer should refer any enquiries to the college or advice the apprentice to do so
  2. The host employer will be required to authorise the apprentice’s timesheet before it is submitted to the ATA manager
  3. All apprentices employed by the college will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before they are appointed
  4. The apprentice will be covered by the college’s employability policy
  5. If the host employer decides to take on the apprentice as an employee then they will be required to pay a recruitment and selection fee. There will be no charge if they decide to recruit an apprentice directly
  6. Host employers will be required to pay their ATA fee, 30 days after receiving the monthly invoice
  7. If the host employer wishes to terminate any agreement, then they must discuss this with their assigned ATA manager
  8. Employer contributions for apprentices aged 19 and over will still apply unless waivered at the discretion of the college’s senior apprenticeship management team
