Are you a creative person who loves art and design? Want to turn your talents and hobbies into a career?
This multi-disciplinary course will get you started. The Diploma will help you to develop skills in fine Art, Photography, Sculpture, 3D, Graphics and Textile areas. You will take part in live projects, which are delivered with our partner organisations, and will give you a real insight into how professionals work within the creative industries.
Throughout the course, you will develop independence and identity as a young practicing artist or designer through experience of various areas of art and design and exciting projects.
The course is a springboard for progression onto either various Level 3 art and design courses, such as Fashion, Art and Design, Graphic Design and Interior Design or even employment. It will give you confidence to make informed destination and progression decisions through specialising in a discipline of your choice whilst refining your skills in that field.
The course is divided into units, which cover a number of topics.
• 3D visual communication
• Working with graphic design briefs
• Using ideas to explore, develop and produce art and design
• Building an art and design portfolio
In the final stages of the course, you will create sophisticated pieces of work that will be exhibited as part of the end of year show.

4 GCSEs at grades D to G/GCSE grade 3 - 1 (including a curriculum-related subject). Or a Level 1 related qualification.
Successful completion of this course may lead directly onto a Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design, Fashion, Graphic Design, Interior Design or Media.
