A part time evening Level 3 programme that will further develop your skills and knowledge in carpentry. You will be expected to have successfully completed lower level qualifications prior to starting the course. Progression is typically into employment or BTEC professional construction management qualifications.
The Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry is designed to further develop your skills and knowledge, enabling you to work to an advanced level in the industry in your chosen craft. It has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions. Tests are based on the student showing what they can do as an individual through the completion of all the requirements of the qualification. During your time on the course, you will complete training designed to develop your individual skills with a wide range of tasks. Once you are judged to be ready, you will then be practically assessed on these skills.
You will also undertake classroom sessions to improve your knowledge and understanding of the subject and will also be assessed on this.

Successful completion of Level 2 qualification in a related subject and Interview. All applicants will undertake an initial assessment. Candidates must show that they have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification, particularly as the qualification is condensed into 12 months.
Successful students can further their studies by taking the BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (Pearson) at Walsall College (subject to initial assessment and interview).
