Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services - Children and Young People’s Management

The qualification is aimed at registered managers, managers, assistant managers, deputy managers, senior care/support workers, supervisors, co-ordinators or team leaders in health and social care settings such as residential services for older people, people with disabilities, domiciliary care services, day services, respite services or community based services. 

This is a competence based qualification and is designed to be assessed in the student’s workplace and they understand their normal work role. The evidence at times must reflect the policies and procedures of the workplace as informed by current legislation.

There are six pathways available:

  • Adults Management,
  • Adults Residential Management,
  • Adults Advanced,
  • Children & Young People’s - Advanced Practice,
  • Children & Young People’s
  • Management and Children & Young People’s Residential Management.

An interview. A minimum Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy through an Initial Assessment. A Skills Scan, in line with the qualification and current job role must be from a management position, will be completed by a Vocational Assessor to ensure competencies within the Sector can be evidenced.

Students can progress onto one of the following courses:

  • BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care Studies,
  • BSc (Hons) Health Studies,
  • BA (Hons) Social Care/Social Policy,
  • BA (Hons) Social Care and Health Studies,
  • Level 7 CIM Management.
