Level 4 Management in Adult Social Care

These qualifications are designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge needed to care for others in a broad range of health or social care settings.

A diploma in Health and Social Care is flexible to suit all fields of health and social care. Learners can select a pathway that suits their role - for example, working with people with a learning disability, people with dementia or children and young people.

This is the main qualification required by the Quality Care Commission in England and the Care Councils in Wales and Northern Ireland and is the recognised qualification for care workers and senior care workers in health and social care.

This qualification allows learners to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Adult Care in England. It covers a range of topics for the structure and units please download the course sheet.

Age restrictions
The City & Guilds Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (England) is not approved for learners under 18 years of age. City & Guilds cannot accept any registrations for learners below this age group.

This qualification allows learners to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Adult Care in England. It covers a range of topics. Please see the structure and units for details.
Learners may progress into employment or to the following City & Guilds qualifications:
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children’s and Yung People’s Services (Adults Residential Management) (England) (4978-54 and -94)
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children’s and Yung People’s Services (Adults Management) (England) (4978-55 and -95)
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children’s and Yung People’s Services (Adults Advanced Practice) (England) (4978-56 and -96)
This qualification will be the accepted qualification for registration and regulation where appropriate and can demonstrate continuing professional development.
