Level 3 Electrical Installation

The ideal course for aspiring electricians, looking to advance their skills and progress to a higher level. The course combines study of practical techniques with a range of theory based applications.

Completion of the C&G2365 Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations, along with an interview and good levels of literacy and numeracy is a requirement of entry. Applications from mature students will be assessed on an individual basis and consideration will be given to students who have completed a previous electrical qualification such as the 2330 or the 2360.

Progression onto apprenticeships or higher level qualifications. This qualification also forms part of the electrotechnical apprenticeship framework and can be used towards the completion of a full electrical apprenticeship. Once this qualification is complete, with the relevant site experience you can complete the 2365 upgrade qualification to the 2357 and apply for an ECS card.

Maths & English Requirement

English and Maths is a mandatory part of the 16-19 study programme.
If you have GCSEs in English and Maths at:

  • A* - C or 4-9 - You will continue to study English and Maths but do not have to take another exam.
  • D or 3 - You will need to resit your GCSE English and Maths at college.
  • E, F or G / 1 or 2 - You will study for Functional Skills until you get to Level 1. Then you will take GCSE English and Maths.
