Level 3 Diploma in Womens Hairdressing

This course prepares students for working in the hairdressing industry. In addition to completion of competition work, students will practice running their own column in the college's commercial salon.

This programme is ideal for a junior hairstylist or hairdresser that carries out treatments including the following:

  • Creatively cutting hair
  • Colouring hair
  • Colour correction
  • Creatively styling and dressing hair
  • Creating a variety of permed looks 
  • Providing hair extension services

2 GCSEs at grades D to G/GCSE grades 3 - 1 (including a curriculum-related subject), a Level 2 related qualification or prior experience within the hairdressing industry.
Initial assessment at Level 1 English/Maths.

  • BTEC Level 4 HNC Hair and Beauty Management (Pearson)

Maths & English Requirement

English and Maths is a mandatory part of the 16-19 study programme.
If you have GCSEs in English and Maths at:

  • A* - C or 4-9 - You will continue to study English and Maths but do not have to take another exam.
  • D or 3 - You will need to resit your GCSE English and Maths at college.
  • E, F or G / 1 or 2 - You will study for Functional Skills until you get to Level 1. Then you will take GCSE English and Maths.
