Level 3 BTEC 90-Credit Diploma in Hospitality with Events

This Hospitality course can provide students who have the passion, focus and desire to work in an ever changing and vibrant industry, with an internationally recognised skill set to help them achieve their career goals.

This course explores the wide variety of services provided by hospitality organisations, whilst offering a thorough introduction to the skills required for success in the industry, such as customer service, events organisation, marketing in hospitality and finance.

The qualification develops a supervisory focus to enable students to manage food and beverage outlets; with a holistic business approach.

5 GCSEs at grades C/GCSE grade 4 or above including English Language and/or Maths (some courses may require both, please check your individual course). Or a Level 2 related qualification.

Successful completion of Level 3 can lead to the Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Hospitality Management (Pearson), availible at Walsall College.

Maths & English Requirement

English and Maths is a mandatory part of the 16-19 study programme.
If you have GCSEs in English and Maths at:

  • A* - C or 4-9 - You will continue to study English and Maths but do not have to take another exam.
  • D or 3 - You will need to resit your GCSE English and Maths at college.
  • E, F or G / 1 or 2 - You will study for Functional Skills until you get to Level 1. Then you will take GCSE English and Maths.
