Introduction to Fabrication

Thinking about a career in engineering?

This course is the perfect stepping stone for those who are keen to build a career in this very rewarding and lucrative field.

The course will introduce trainees to fabrication and welding, equipping them with skills to use a variety of equipment, including the bending machine, plasma cutter and band saw.

You will also learn how to measure and mark out, as well as the process, safe use and practise of using a number of machines. As part of this course, you will learn how to:

• Measure and Mark Out

You will also be introduced to the process, safe use and practise of using:

• Bending machine

• Guillotines

• Plasma Cutter

• Band Saw

• Chop Saw

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Use MIG/TIG welding equipment safely and correctly to tack weld components

• Safely and correctly use a range of forming machines including bending, cutting etc.

• Use a variety of hand tools and simple measuring and marking out equipment
