Do you have aspirations to become a manager? Have an interest in the hospitality and events industry?

Our course will give you the essential skills every manager within the industry needs. The qualification offers you the opportunity to study subjects that reflect the challenging diversity of the Hospitality and Events Industry, allowing you to examine the related aspects of Business, Events and Tourism.  

The course covers a wide range of businesses and establishments, including all of the following: 

  • Deluxe hotels and restaurants 
  • Designer bars 
  • Contractors for events 
  • Specialist catering for sporting events 
  • Budget hotels 
  • Pubs and nightclubs

Applicants are guaranteed a work placement.

  • A levels or equivalent related Level 3 qualification
  • Relevant work experience will be considered
  • GCSE grades A* to C (or equivalent) and/ or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as Maths and English
  • All applicants will require an initial assessment and interview

You can progress to the HND Hospitality with Event Management at Walsall College or to the second year of an honours degree, depending on the match of the HNC units to the degree course in question. Employment or self employment.

Maths & English Requirement

English and Maths is a mandatory part of the 16-19 study programme.
If you have GCSEs in English and Maths at:

  • A* - C or 4-9 - You will continue to study English and Maths but do not have to take another exam.
  • D or 3 - You will need to resit your GCSE English and Maths at college.
  • E, F or G / 1 or 2 - You will study for Functional Skills until you get to Level 1. Then you will take GCSE English and Maths.
